Drea LaRose
Drea LaRose is an upstate New York based artist working in photography, digital painting, and sculpture. Her art has been shown locally in numerous solo and group exhibitions. In January 2020 she opened an alternative exhibition space, The Hallway at Second Street Studios located in downtown Troy where she has curated exhibitions both virtual and physical. She is currently working and living in Troy, NY.

Laura Frare
Laura Frare is a visual artist, experimental filmmaker, and self-taught multi-instrumentalist. Since earning her MFA, she has worked as an adjunct art professor, art handler, and exhibition installation assistant. Laura’s recent work focuses on composing short films and soundtracks in a suite of visual poems without words. She also collaborates on projects involving live soundtracks for dance performances, original scores for silent film screenings, and video poems. Her creative process involves experimenting with audio and video imagery captured at home and while traveling.

Marisa Cavanaugh

Marisa Cavanaugh’s paintings are the embodiment of wrapping up anxieties and putting a bow on them.
Instead of allowing the disruptive and deafening thoughts to consume the space in her mind, she uses
paint to work through the fears. By coupling this with bright colors and excessive amounts of tiny details,
she is able to turn her dark thoughts into a piece of work that is bound to put a smile on your face. Marisa
has a background in graphic design and currently works out of her home studio in Troy, New York.

Kim Tateo
Kim Tateo’s work is inspired by a profound moment with a disco ball, which led her to reflect on the perception of self and others. Her piece invites viewers to contemplate how they see themselves, how they believe others perceive them, and who they are at their core. Kim encourages self-reflection and mindfulness through her art. She asks viewers to observe their surroundings and senses, ultimately recognizing their uniqueness and value.

Kelsey Renko
Kelsey Renko’s paintings capture the essence of intimacy and human experience. Her work features layers of paint, emphasizing the physical and emotional closeness of figures. Kelsey’s art combines vibrant colors and expressive gestures, blurring the line between abstraction and figuration. She holds an MFA from the University at Albany and a BFA from the College of Saint Rose. In addition to her art, she works at the Tang Teaching Museum at Skidmore College, curates exhibitions, and serves as an artist assistant to Sarah Cain. Kelsey has exhibited widely in the Capital Region and Hudson Valley.

Willie Marlowe
Willie Marlowe has exhibited paintings in the USA and abroad. She has had artist’s residencies and has been a guest artist in the USA and Europe. Born in North Carolina, she holds a BS from East Carolina University and an MFA from the University of Idaho. Willie is now a Professor Emerita at Russell Sage College. Her work in Visual and Concrete Poetry includes painted poems, found poems, asemic writing, and poems in ziggurat matrix formations. Her visual poems have been featured at The Black Mountain College Museum in Asheville, NC, Albany Institute of History and Art in NY, and Artpool in Budapest. Her poems are also published in various European publications, including The New Croton Review (NY) and UNI/vers(;) (Germany).

Yeachin Tsai
Yeachin Tsai received her BFA at National Taiwan Normal University and her MFA at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York. Known for her rhythmic forms and decisive brush marks rooted in Chinese calligraphy and painting dynamics, she works with layered ink, acrylic, and oil colors on various surfaces. Yeachin’s paintings, both intimate and colossal in scale, generate tension and vibrant energy. Her work has been exhibited at notable venues such as the Painting Center in Manhattan, the New York State Museum in Albany, and the Hyde Collection in Glens Falls, NY. Her original pieces are held in private collections worldwide, including corporate collections at renowned venues.

Mary Kathryn Jablonski
Mary Kathryn Jablonski is a visual artist and poet, serving as the Senior Editor in Visual Art for Tupelo Quarterly. She is the author of “Sugar Maker Moon” (Dos Madres Press, 2019) and her poems have appeared in various literary journals. She was awarded a NYSCA Individual Artist’s Grant in Poetry, resulting in the collaborative poetry/film project “Compass” (created with filmmaker Laura Frare), which received “Best Experimental Short” at the 2023 New York State Writers Institute Film Festival. Jablonski has lectured on Visual Poetry and has exhibited her artwork throughout the Northeast U.S., held in both public and private collections.

Nancy Klepsch is a poet and teacher who was born in Brooklyn, NY, and currently lives in Upstate NY. She has been writing poetry since she was in the fourth grade and decided to go to college after watching her mother type envelopes for a penny a piece in the late 60s. She studied education at College of Saint Rose, co-hosts the 2nd Sunday at 2 open mic for poetry and prose, and is one of the founders of Riverside Community Press. god must be a boogie man is her first published book of poems.

CAConrad _ has worked with the ancient technologies of poetry and ritual since 1975. They are the author of 9 books, including AMANDA PARADISE: Resurrect Extinct Vibration (Wave Books, 2021), which won the 2022 PEN Josephine Miles Award. They received a 2022 Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize, a Creative Capital grant, a Pew Fellowship, and a Lambda Award. They exhibit poems as art objects with recent solo shows in Spain and Portugal, and their play The Obituary Show was made into a film in 2022 by Augusto Cascales. Jill Crammond – Jill Crammond’s first book, Handbook for Unwell Mothers, (Finishing Line Press) was released in July 2023. Her poems have been nominated for Pushcart Prizes and Best of the Net, and have appeared in literary magazines and anthologies such as Jet Fuel Review, Sweet Tree Review, SWWIM, Slipstream, Limp Wrist, Tinderbox Poetry Journal, Mother Mary Comes to Me: A Pop Culture Poetry Anthology (Madville Publishing), and Fiolet & Wing: An Anthology of Domestic Fabulist Poetry. Her poems recently appeared as part of Poem Village, a community program celebrating local poetry in the Adirondack town of Saranac Lake. She currently lives in upstate NY with her two children and teaches art and preschool at a nature-based school.

Shira Dentz is the author of five books including SISYPHUSINA (PANK Books; winner of the Eugene Paul Nassar Prize 2021), and two chapbooks including FLOUNDERS (Essay Press). Her writing appears in many venues including Poetry, American Poetry Review, Cincinnati Review, Iowa Review, New American Writing, Academy of American Poets’ Poem-a-Day Series, Poetry Society.org, and NPR, and her awards include an Academy of American Poets’ Prize and Poetry Society of America’s Lyric Poem and Cecil Hemley Awards. She holds an MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and a PhD from the University of Utah, and lives, works, and teaches in upstate NY.

Matthew Klane has an MA in Poetics from SUNY Buffalo and an MFA in Poetry from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. His books of poetry include Hist (w/ James Belflower, Calamari 2022), Canyons (w/ James Belflower, Flimb Press 2016), Che (Stockport Flats 2013) and B (Stockport Flats 2008). Ellen White Rook is a poet and contemplative arts teacher who divides her time between upstate New York and Maine. Retired from a career as an information technology manager, she now offers writing workshops and leads retreats that combine meditation, movement, and writing. Ellen holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Lindenwood University and has been twice nominated for the Pushcart Prize. Suspended, her first collection of poetry, was released by Cathexis Northwest Press in May 2023. Sarah Wyman lives in the Hudson Valley where she writes and teaches about literature and the visual arts. She directs the Faculty Center at SUNY New Paltz and co-facilitates the Sustainability Learning Community. She teaches poetry workshops at Shawangunk Prison. Her poetry has appeared in aaduna, Mudfish, Ekphrasis, San Pedro River Review, Potomac Review, Lightwood, Heron Clan VIIChronogramShawangunk ReviewA Slant of Light: Contemporary Women Poets of the Hudson Valley, and other venues. She published books as well: Sighted Stones (FLP 2018) and Fried Goldfinch (Codhill 2021).

As a special highlight of this event, guests will be treated to a unique dance performance by Sara Senecal and Hannah Albin, accomplished dancers from the Ellen Sinapoli Dance Company. Their captivating performance is intricately choreographed to resonate with the themes and emotions conveyed by the exhibition, adding an artistic dimension that complements the visual experience. This dance performance promises to be a one-of-a-kind fusion of movement and visual art, further enhancing the immersive atmosphere of “Paired Provisions” and making it an unforgettable evening of artistic exploration.

Ellen Sinapoli Dancer Bios:

SARA SENECAL holds an MFA in Choreography from Jacksonville University and a BA in Dance and minor in Education from the University at Buffalo.  Along with dancing for ESDC Sara has presented her own choreography at many locations across NYS such as The Poet’s Den in Harlem, Byrdcliffe Theatre in Woodstock, The Carrier Theater in Syracuse, and The Egg PAC as the choreographer for ESDC’s Egg Kids Project. In 2018, she was the winner of Nacre’s “So You Think You Can Choreograph” Showcase in Saratoga Springs.  Sara joined the faculty of Russell Sage College in 2018.  She is originally from Schenectady, NY where she studied at Merritt Dance Center under Mara and Marlene Merritt. Sara has been with the Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company since 2010 and is an Arts in Education Coordinator for the company.

HANNAH ALBIN is a performing artist from the Bay Area, CA. She holds a B.F.A. in Dance Performance and Dance Choreography with a Minor in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine, where she trained under the direction of Molly Lynch and Lar Lubovitch, graduating with the Dean’s Scholarship and department honors for Excellence in Dance Choreography. In 2021, she trained with the José Limón Dance foundation under the direction of Dante Puleio performing solos in Missa Brevis and Dances for Isadora. She has been a merit scholarship recipient with the Limón Dance Company, Black Label Movement, and Backhaus Dance. She’s choreographed for dance films and on stage for UCI’s Physical Graffiti, Bare Bones Dance Theater, the St. Cecilia Conservatory of Rome, Italy, and the Experimental Media Performance Lab where she directed, ran, and choreographed her own live show entitled Prefer Not To Say for which she was awarded the Medici Circle Scholarship. Hannah joined the company in 2022.
