Finalist Exhibition

Complementing Troy Glow, the Arts Center’s outdoor public art light festival on view Dec. 4, 2022 through Jan. 9, 2023, this exhibition features related work by the 10 artist teams that were chosen as finalists for Troy Glow commissioned projects. After a call for public art resulted in dozens of submissions, these artist teams were asked to submit full proposals. Due to size, cost, site feasibility, and other variables, not all final proposals could be fully realized.

The exhibition showcases the range of work by this diverse group of regional artists and designers. Some of the work in the gallery is related to the site-specific work you will see in Troy Glow, and other work is more related to artistsstudio practices. For most of these artists, light is only one of many mediums used. For many of them, outdoor public art is either a new pursuit or just one part of their broader artistic practice.
