Do want to break into the field of sports photography? Do you want to take better pictures of your son playing football or your daughter competing in soccer? Times Union photographer Cindy Schultz will lead a class in how to capture all the action and drama of fall sports. We’ll meet each week to discuss what makes a good sports photo and critique students’ work from the weekly assignments. Students should bring their own DSLR camera and have a working knowledge of and access to long lenses, such as a 70-200mm or 300mm lens.

On Location Portraiture with Families & Couples

In this one-day workshop, students will be guided through the process of photographing families and couples focusing on group shots, posing, and selecting perfect on location settings. We will review basic portrait techniques and then dive into how to capture authentic and exciting family portraits. Basic knowledge of the use of a digital SLR camera is helpful, but beginners are welcome. The Arts Center can provide a DSLR camera for you, but if you have your own, please bring it with you. Prerequisite: Intro to Photography or firm knowledge of aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and camera metering
