What classes are The Arts Center looking to offer?
Class schedules are determined by 2 main factors- student interest and studio availability. The Arts Center has facilities for the following mediums: woodworking, pottery/ceramics, jewelry, stained glass, printmaking, photography, drawing & painting, mixed media, dance and theatre/drama. Class proposals are accepted and welcomed.

What is the rate of pay?
The standard rate of pay for teaching artists is $34/hour for regular public classes. Hourly rates are subject to change based on experience. Camp pay is $30/hour. Specialty programming is typically $128 per session.

I’ve been hired to teach, how do I know that my class will run?
Classes must meet a minimum of 4 students enrolled by 1 week prior to the start date of class to run. Classes that do not meet this minimum requirement are subject to cancellation. Class registration levels are monitored weekly, and low enrollment classes can be promoted on Arts Center social media and newsletter.

How do I know my class enrollment levels?
Weekly updates are sent to all teachers on staff on Tuesdays. These updates include the classes current enrollment, and if they are slated to run or not. If classes are subject to cancellation, the Director of Programs will alert you and your students.

Can I teach/work elsewhere while teaching with The Arts Center?
Absolutely! Many of our teaching artists also work in local school districts/colleges. However, instructors may not solicit Arts Center students to take their classes at other institutions.

Do I have to have previous teaching experience to teach at ACCR?
Nope! Our teaching artists vary from trained & professional artists, education staff, self taught artists and more!

Am I expected to provide the materials for my class?
No! Each class is provided a budget for materials which is determined by the number of students in your class multiplied by the studio fee. Materials lists must be provided to the Director of Programs 1-2 weeks in advance of the class in order to ensure prompt delivery. ACCR also has a wide variety of materials already available for use at your disposal.

Apply to Teach!
