The Arts Center of the Capital Region has several spaces in the facility that are available for rental for activities such as meetings, symposiums, receptions, award ceremonies, theatrical productions, concerts, movie screenings, galas, and other special events. The list below highlights some of the most common uses of our facility.

Conference Room: The Arts Center’s Conference Room, overlooking the Hudson River, seats up to 25 people “conference style” or up to 40 people “theatre style.” It is equipped with a sink and counter space and is adjacent to restrooms.

Dance Studio: The Dance Studio features a sprung floor and sound system. It is available for hourly rentals as a teaching, practice, or rehearsal space.

The Culinary Kitchen: The Culinary Kitchen is available for rental on an hourly basis in conjunction with events or on its own. It features a 4 burner gas stove, microwave, commercial three bay sink, and plenty of prep space.

Studio Space: Other Art Studios are sometimes available for rental on a limited basis, depending on scheduling and proposed activity. Renter would be responsible for providing all materials and supplies for any activity that takes place in an Arts Center classroom. See Private Events: Birthday Parties.

Black Box Theatre: The Arts Center’s Black Box Theatre seats up to 99 people and is equipped with a professional sound and lighting system, digital projection system, and two dressing rooms with private restroom facilities. Theatre seating is collapsible allowing the space to be used as a private party room suitable for receptions and sit-down dinners.

Foyer/Main Lobby: The Arts Center’s Foyer/Main Lobby can be used for cocktail parties and informal receptions. The foyer, theatre, and main gallery space may be combined to host more formal or larger events including receptions and gala style events.

Main Gallery: The Arts Center’s Main Gallery is available on a limited basis, between scheduled exhibits, for short-term exhibitions or events.

  • Insurance Requirement: All rentals require proof of liability insurance declaring that The Arts Center and all of their respective officers, agents, and employees is afforded public liability insurance coverage as “primary and non-contributory additional insured” for any and all claims, including personal injury and property damage, which may be made against The Arts Center as a result, directly or indirectly, or the uses herein granted. Limits of the coverage shall not be less than $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate for personal injury and property damage.

For-profit and not-for-profit rates are available. Rentals outside of regular Arts Center business hours are subject to additional charges. Some amenities carry additional fees.
