Glorified Doodles is back at the Arts Center, but with a new twist! The Sketchbook Project will teach 6-8th graders how to create and build unique sketchbooks based on their ideas, doodles, and inspirations. Throughout history artists have utilized sketchbooks to expand on their ideas in a fast paced manner. Most times these sketchbooks are looked at as a starting point to bigger and better drawings and paintings. What if the sketchbook functioned as the bigger and better art piece on its own? Sketchbooks evoke a unique experience for the artist and the viewer. Students will build their sketchbooks page by page as the camp progresses. Multiple books can be made or one cohesive sketchbook can be completed. The students will also learn DIY book-binding techniques as well as how to create the final product.
