Faheem Haider uses paintings and drawings to reflect on the US military occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq. A long time student of political theory and political economy, having studied at London School of Economics and NYU, Faheem switched to Visual Arts at age 30, and earned his MFA from SUNY, New Paltz. Faheem’s practice is collaborative. He works closely with Poets and Musicians who have been to Afghanistan and Iraq and have seen the effects of the War on Terror in person, as well as artists and well wishers for whom the War on Terror is the subject and object of a morning newspaper read. Faheem was born in Bangladesh and then grew up in Montgomery, NY, where he lives once more after having spent years in NYC and Europe.
