Come relax and unwind after work at Crafty Hour! These 2-hour workshops are the perfect opportunity to try a new artistic medium without the commitment of a longer class. Enjoy a glass of wine or beer on the house and mingle with peers before diving into the studios. Crafty Hour is perfect for date night, girls’ night, or even a solo date! End your evening with new art and new friends! Must be 21+ to drink.

If you are unable to attend after registering, we ask that you please contact Joseph@artscenteronline.org so we are able to open your seat to

Pottery: Hand Building

Instructor: Colleen Skiff
Relax, enjoy a drink with your friends, and find your Zen by getting your hands into some clay in the ceramics studio. We’ll teach you hand-building techniques so that you can build up your ceramic knowledge! Our pottery team will help you make a piece and then afterwards, we’ll fire it in our kiln and glaze it for you, and let you know when it is ready to pick up.

Glass Fused Jewelry

Instructor: Charlotte Hirschberger
Come fuse and schmooze during this holiday glass-making session! We’ll layer small pieces of art and dichroic glass on a background “canvas” piece to create colorful, sparkling compositions and scenes that are perfect for holiday decorations and gift-giving. Students can choose to make ornaments or pendants. Please note: glass will be fired off-site after class and returned to the Arts Center for pick-up starting 12/20. Please plan accordingly.

Troy Winterscapes

Instructor: Rachael Duchnycz
Create a layered image of historic Troy as a winterscape! We will make “reverse paintings” using canvas panels, acrylic paint, and transparent plastic. We will begin by tracing the historic cityscapes of Troy onto transparent plastic sheets. We will use acrylic paint to add snow to the buildings. Then, we will paint an abstracted snowy background on a canvas panel. Finally, we will combine the different parts to reveal a simple but beautiful representation of Troy as a winter wonderland.
