Master Fall Artist in Residence, Richard Hochheimer, will introduce you to the art of designing, sculpting and animating stop motion characters. You will create your own stop motion puppet, and use scale models and props to understand how to bring your puppet to life through Stop Motion Videos (like Wallace and Gromit, Coraline and The Fantastic Mr. Fox). Students – late teenage through adult – are asked to bring their creativity, imagination, and the ability to get their hands dirty! You will leave with a working knowledge of Stop Motion techniques, a tool set for sculpting, and your own Stop Motion puppet! Some sculpting and clay experience is helpful.
