The winter landscape is one of the most visually stunning and poetic themes throughout the history of painting. This workshop will concentrate on achieving effects such as sunlight and shadow on snow, a gentle dusting of snow, capturing a wind-driven, snow squall or a gently falling snow. Have lots of fun achieving stunningly rich color, strong hue contrast, and subtle color temperature variations to improve your painting skills and visual perception. Working from sketches or photos learn to build form by layering strokes with an expanded palette of color and limited value range. Composition, practical color theory, and attention to achieving vibrant textural surfaces distinguish this workshop by a very popular, nationally known instructor, arts writer and exhibitions juror. This fun and educational workshop will consist of demonstrations, critique, and lots of painting time. All levels welcome from beginner through advanced. Confirmation letter will list the materials needed for class.
