This is a structured oil painting course for the beginning student emphasizing individual instruction and guidance appropriate with each students’ skill level. Returning students new to oils are also welcome, but this class is not suggested for those comfortable with oils. Discussions regarding materials and tools of oil painting will be combined with technique demonstrations for working with oil on canvas. Topics will include color mixing, composition, light, and rendering techniques. All materials will be provided and students will be supplied with some brushes and palette knives to take home. Some basic drawing experience is helpful.
