What is a pop-up gallery you may ask? A pop-up gallery is a DIY form of exhibiting artwork to the public. Utilizing a found space within a community setting pop up galleries function as a one day event for artists alike to showcase their artwork, as well as create a show that reflects the physical space of the found place. In this intensive you will learn the basic fundamentals of creating a collaborative exhibit with your peers that showcases your original artwork, writings, and creativity. You will learn the importance of brainstorming ideas, writing exhibition descriptions, and how to properly hang an art show in a fun and interesting manner. This is your opportunity to share your art with friends, family, and peers within the community! Upon completion students will have learned the necessary tools to create their own pop-up gallery and will exhibit their Pop-Up Art Show for one night at Troy Night Out on July 25, 2014. Don’t miss this unique experience!
