Monotype Workshop

May 12, 2018 — 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM
Instructor: Sunghee Park Member:120 | Non-Member:140 | Materials Fee: 50. Enrollment Max: 8

This workshop is for anyone who is interested in making a playful and intimate image by using a tracing process in your work. Whether you are a monotype enthusiast or trying monotype for the first time, you may find it both exciting and challenging. Trace monotype is a direct-drawing printmaking technique. The pressure of the drawing tool picks up a line of ink on the paper as the pen bears down. This very simple method of transferring ink through the touch of a tool to the surface of the paper offers many expressive possibilities. Subtle, immediate mark-making is the pleasure of this printing technique. In this workshop, we will work with water-based intaglio ink, tracing paper, and Plexiglass. Bring your favorite images: photos, printouts from any printed books, and/or magazines to work with.
