The Arts Center is teaming up with the Agricultural Stewardship Association (ASA) for this unique from farm to table program: Farms, Food, and Photography. You will meet teaching artist Ellie Markovitch of at the Arts Center. We will walk to Howard Stoner’s Urban Farm, and then be inspirited by our local growing movement as we visit the Community Garden Produce Project. We’ll end up at the Troy Farmer’s Market, experiencing the vibrancy of a bustling Farmer’s Market, and learn how to capture it best with our cameras. Back at the Arts Center Kitchen, you’ll help Ellie prepare your farm to table lunch and enjoy it together while documenting it all. After the class, you can review the photos you have taken, and select the best to submit to Ellie for selection for the ASA Farms, Food, Photography exhibit in August featuring the work from teens and adults who have participated in the ASA classes and camps. Then join us at the Arts Center for the opening featuring a food tasting at the August Troy Night Out to remind the community of the important role farms and food play in our lives. Don’t forget to bring your camera! For more information visit: CLASS INCLUDES AN ADDITIONAL ONE AND A HALF HOUR IN THE DIGITAL ARTS LAB AT THE ARTS CENTER ON FOR EDITING AND PHOTOSHOP HELP.
