Get up with the farmer and experience daybreak on the farm. You will meet teaching artist Ellie Markovitch of early in the morning at Longlesson Farm ( ). In this participatory class, you will experience the new day breaking, learn how to capture it best with your camera, even get your hands dirty by doing some of the farm work yourself! You’ll help Ellie prepare your farm to table lunch and enjoy it together while documenting it all with your camera. After the class, you can review the photos you have taken, and select the best to submit to Ellie for selection for the ASA Farms, Food, Photography exhibit in August featuring the work from teens and adults who have participated in the ASA classes and camps. Then join us at the Arts Center for the opening featuring a food tasting at the August Troy Night Out to remind the community of the important role farms and food play in our lives.
