Belly Dancing

Glide across the floor with elegance as you frame your body with beautiful hand and arm movements, learn shimmies both soft and powerful, and hypnotic movements of the hips such as figure eights, mayas and undulations while wearing hip scarves (coin sashes). Set to the exciting rhythms of North Africa and the Middle East, students will learn a fun choreography incorporating these techniques. Belly dancing is a great low-impact workout, suitable for beginners and dancers of all ages. Students are asked to wear comfortable clothes. We dance barefoot but students can also wear socks or soft dance shoes (ballet or jazz shoes).
