February 8, 2014 to February 9, 2014 — 01:00 PM to 04:00 PM
Instructor: Monica Bill Hughes Member:81.0 | Non-Member:90.0 Enrollment Max: 12

Reference the traditional, most basic art form of drawing in non-traditional ways! In this intensive weekend workshop you will begin to explore creating artwork that stems from conceptual ideas rather than pure representation. Refresh your studio practice by approaching drawing from a new, thought-provoking angle! Come with ideas (What interests/excites you in contemporary culture?) and learn how to manipulate water-based media in traditional ways to create work that addresses these broader social ideas. Students should bring smooth drawing paper such as Bristol (whatever size you feel comfortable working), a variety of fine tip ink pens (Micron are best), liner brushes and acrylic inks and/or gouache if desired.
