Does your child love being creative!? The Arts Center of the Capital Region provides full-day art camps for children ages 6-17 during winter and spring school breaks! Experienced teaching artists offer a variety of art media and skills while providing campers with unique creative experience for all ages. 

AM and PM care are available for parents on the go!

Kids Camp: Catch Them All! (Ages 6–9)

Become a Pokémon master at the Arts Center! In this mixed-media camp, you will design your own Pokémon characters and create your own Poké balls using a wide variety of art materials. By the end of the week, you and your Pokémon friends will bring your imagination to life for an epic battle performance in our theater for all your friends and family to enjoy! Are you ready to catch them all?

Kids Camp: The Art of Time Travel (Ages 6–9)

Build a time machine and travel to the great pyramids of Egypt, walk with the dinosaurs, explore Medieval times, and more! In the morning you'll draw, paint, and construct these fascinating worlds. In the afternoon, you will use recycled materials to create your own costumes and bring these settings to life!

Discover the art and craft of visual storytelling. We will focus on bringing clarity to good ideas by developing your illustrative style, directing a visual story, and using drawing as a form of communication. A good fit for cartoonists, but also a good primer for those interested in film, graphic art, and video game design.

Music Movers (Ages 5–8)

Level: Beginner

Explore movement through music and creation of musical instruments. The first part of the workshop will focus on singing and dancing to songs for all to enjoy. For the second half, you will create your own unique musical instruments to play together for sing-along at our final session. Parents are welcome to stay and participate!
