Part history lesson, and part art class, students will learn about design in the world we live in (the good and the bad) and create a variety of assignments including logomarks, posters, mailers, ads, and brochures. Through the study of typography, design concepts, and design problem-solving, students will learn about visual communication, creating and finessing a design and working with the creative process with a final product in mind. Using Illustrator and InDesign, we’ll work on real world assignments, and we will view and discuss a variety of professional work samples. It is suggested that participants be comfortable on the computer and basic operations.
