Diane Cameron is a writer, teacher and speaker. A long-time columnist with the Albany Times Union, Diane also writes for other newspapers and journals and authors two blogs: Love in the Time of Cancer –about cancer and caregiving, and Never Up Never In Love—about women and golf. Her essays have been heard on National Public Radio. She has won many awards including a PEN award for fiction, and her essays on military mental illness—the subject of her current project—were nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Diane is a fierce advocate for caregivers and for people living in poverty. She is the Development Director at Unity House in Troy.

The Street Painting Competition attracts dozens of regional artists to compete for the best chalk design on the sidewalks of River Street. Registration costs $15.00. During this two week camp program, students will spend their first week at CMOST experimenting, investigating and discovering the field of science. They will spend each day learning about and exploring different scientific disciplines as they really delve in and attempt to answer the in-depth question of what is science and who exactly is a scientist. Throughout their explorations they will bridge between science and art. Students will then spend the second week at The Arts Center in their new Digital Arts Studio creating arts-based projects that further explore and explain the scientific concepts that campers investigated at CMOST. Students will work with Macs, DSLR cameras, and hands-on art materials.

Sea Ghosts, Driven by the nuanced textures of William Harper’s electroacoustic music, The Gallowing Sea, this dance delves wildly into the world of mythical creatures whose enigmatic tentacle-like arms and legs surround, encircle and intertwine in a capricious granting of physicality, only to spirit it away at will. “The work is a plunge into Neptune’s colorful universe as one of the dancers emerges as a creature caught up in an undertow personified by the other dancers.
