Make Movies People Will Want To See With Your DSLR: A Crash CourseOctober 13, 2014 to October 20, 2014 — 06:00 PM to 09:00 PM Instructor: Jason K. van Staveren
This two evening workshop will acquaint DSLR video beginners with filmmaking tricks of the trade used to produce exciting motion pictures. The first night will cover planning and shooting. Technical information like controlling exposure, obtaining critical focus and video file codecs will be covered. Also, videography fundamentals like shot types, lighting schemes and storyboarding will be discussed and practiced. The second session will include a footage gathering exercise and editing instruction. We’ll go over how to convert video files to codecs readable by editing software and cover basics of digital video editing. The goal of this class is to prepare video capable DSLR owners to make complete, polished videos. Students should have prior DSLR experience. Ownership of a camera is useful but not essential as students can use an Arts Center DSLR camera.
