Stop Motion Crash Course
June 1, 2013 — 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM Instructor: Ira MarcksUtilize the resources of The Art Center’s digital arts studio to explore stop motion in this one-day workshop. Develop skills with a digital SLR camera, lighting techniques, storyboarding, animation and basic video production. This workshop is about being a playful and resourceful storyteller. No advanced software skills are required for this session.

Final Cut Pro Crash Course
July 13, 2013 — 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM Instructor: Bhawin SuchakThis training course covers an introduction to Final Cut Pro X for film editing techniques. This class will cover organizing media files, preparing to edit your story, editing in the magnetic timeline, advanced editing techniques, audio work, titles, effects, compositing, color correction techniques, exporting and sharing, and DSLR workflows. Participants must be comfortable with basic computer operations. Mac experience is helpful, but not required. Please bring your camera, at least 10 minutes of video footage, and a USB device or cardreader for uploading files to the computers.

Documentary Film Workshop
July 28, 2013 to August 11, 2013 — 12:30 PM to 03:30 PM Instructor: Julie Casper RothThis workshop will cover the basics of documentary production from pre-production to post-production. Participants are encouraged to come to class with an idea for a documentary in mind. From there, we will do exercises to help make individual projects start to become a reality. This class will cover topics such as creative fundraising, securing a crew/help, and distribution.
