Ashtanga Yoga
June 5, 2013 to July 17, 2013 — 06:00 PM to 07:15 PM Instructor: Diane SimpsonLearn about the basics of Ashtanga, also known as Power Yoga. The course will cover breath, bandhas (energy locks), and meditation. Students will learn Sun Salutations and begin to learn the asanas (postures) in the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga. This class will move more slowly than a typical Ashtanga class, allowing participants to develop skills necessary for future Ashtaga/Vinyasa Flow classes. No class 6/26.

Modern Dance

It will explore these concepts through floor work, a standing warm-up, and dance phrases that give students a chance to really move. Beginning Swing Dance, Lindy-Hop + Blues
June 11, 2013 to July 16, 2013 — 07:15 PM to 08:30 PM Instructor: Jason FentonThis progressive class is geared toward beginners who have never tried or want to expand their swing dancing repertoire. Class will focus on up-tempo steps of fast 6-count East Coast Swing and Jitterbug which is geared towards up-tempo Swing, Jump Blues and Rockabilly music while the Lindy Hop and Charleston sections will cover more technical 8-count steps which are geared towards more traditional Swing music. Some previous swing dance experience is helpful, but not necessary. No partner is required.
