Stained Glass

No matter what your level of experience may be, you can create a beautiful stained glass panel. Beginners will choose from four available designs and then learn how to cut glass, assemble, foil and solder your panel (up to 8″x10″). Experienced students can take this opportunity to work on their own designs with the guidance of an experienced instructor. You will surely be amazed by what you can accomplish in one day.

This class is an introduction to basic stained glass techniques. This course will explore all aspects of two-dimensional stained glass construction, preliminary work, glass cutting, soldering, and cleaning. Design and color theory as it relates to stained glass will be explored through lectures and slide presentations. This course involves the use of hand tools requiring fine motor coordination. A continuing development of stained glass with refinement in both technical and aesthetic pursuits with in-depth exploration of lead glazing techniques. The techniques involved in constructing three dimensional stained glass forms, such as boxes, terrariums and lamp shades will be covered in this class.
