Glue Chip Glass Workshop
June 2, 2013 — 12:00 PM to 04:00 PM Instructor: Theresa FaulHave you ever seen the beautiful glass that looks like Jack Frost paid a visit? Ever wondered how it’s made? The process is called “glue chipping,” which creates a frost or fern-like pattern on the surface. Glue chip glass was popular at the turn of the century and is often used for windows and doors where more privacy is required. In this workshop students will learn about the glue chip process. Students will learn the steps to pre-treat and apply the glue to the surface. The entire process takes time, so students will take their piece of glass home to witness the results first hand. The finished product can be used in future stained glass projects.
