The Arts Center of the Capital Region names new organization president
Christopher Marblo joins the downtown Troy organization

Troy, NY (11/30/2011)- The Arts Center of the Capital Region is pleased to announce that Christopher Marblo, M.A., has been  appointed President  of the organization.  Marblo, a seasoned educator with a strong arts background, comes from The Town School in New York City.

“I am thrilled and honored to be the next President of The Arts Center” said Marblo. “The Center serves a vital role in the promotion and experience of the arts in the Capital Region, and I look forward to building on its rich and enduring legacy and helping to write the next chapters of its story.”

Marblo brings over 20 years of experience in leadership in education. Most recently, he served as the Head of School for The Town School in New York City, a position he had held since 2003. There, he has provided strategic direction to the small independent school, leading a $9 million capital campaign, improving annual giving, and strengthening school programs, particularly in the arts.  He will use his experience to guide The Arts Center as it enters into its 50th year.

“I am also very happy to be returning to the Capital District, having lived in the area for twenty-two years. I look forward to reconnecting with the regional community and promoting the very important role the arts can play in the lives of all people” said Marblo.

Interim President Deborah Onslow will remain with The Arts Center until Marblo begins in June 2012. Onslow has been leading the organization since Amy Williams left in July 2011.

Keith Goldstein, head of the Presidential Search Committee said “After conducting a lengthy search, it became clear that Marblo’s skills, personality, and experience are a perfect match for our organization. We  look forward to welcoming him aboard.”
